As we revealed in April, the theme for the 2012 Urban Unveiled show “At First Blush” is now coming to life with the creative expertise that is the design team at Rented Elegance! While this is the first year that we at Seattle Bride will be working one-on-one with the design team, Rented Elegance has been designing this show since the beginning with Jesse and Travis of True Colors. In past years, they have filled the space of Benaroya Hall with bright colors, dramatic design, and perfect accents to the amazing backdrop of the city.   Below are just some of the detailed aspects that have been incorporated in past events. While Urban Unveiled may still be 167 days away (not that we are counting our anything), tonight we will get a little taste of what’s to come for the October 11th event at Luly Yang Couture’s “A Monarch’s Tale” fashion show.

Crafted around the theme of a butterfly on a journey around the world and organized by our partners, the True Colors Events team, the show will feature an explosion of color, from tropical-inspired hues to dusty taupes and blushes that fit in perfectly with the UU theme of “At First Blush”. Something tells me a soft, sophisticated gown, frothing with organza skirting or layers of tulle, may just grace the UU Luly Yang runway as well.

We’ll be back next week with a post-show recap (including photos of wedding gowns from the client portion of the show), but get caught up on all the behind-the-scenes action with sister publication Seattle magazine’s exclusive blog series:

Much like a blushing bride on her wedding day, Seattle Bride is embarking on a new phase of our relationship with longtime partner Urban Unveiled, producing the event for the first time this fall since purchasing the event last fall. On October 11, 2012, Benaroya Hall will overflow with warm rosy and cream tones, soft, sophisticated florals and vintage-inspired décor to create the romantic theme, “At First Blush.”

Travis and I are always trying to think of way to make Urban Unveiled, the wedding show for those with style, sophistication, and a passion for the unique, even better.  We have been a part of the show since its inception, and as its owners, we have had the most amazing time coming up with new and creative ways to enhance Urban Unveiled and bring new and exciting things to the Seattle wedding market.  We have had themes such as Hollywood After Party, South Beach Chic, Woodland Glamour, and most recently, Diamond.  What started out as an idea has grown into the leading boutique wedding event in the Pacific Northwest.  Here are some of our favorite pictures from shows past.

Urban Unveiled 2011 - Diamond

Urban Unveiled 2010 - Woodland Glamour

Urban Unveiled 2009 - South Beach Chic

Urban Unveiled Fall 2008 - Hollywood After Party

Urban Unveiled Winter 2008 - Modern Marie Antionette

Shortly after the October event Seattle Bride approached us about acquiring Urban Unveiled.  We have always looked out for the best interest of the show and all of the vendors.  Seattle Bride has been the media sponsor of Urban Unveiled since the beginning, and we saw this as a perfect fit.  We will remain involved in the creative process of planning & designing Urban Unveiled, as well as at the show itself.  Collectively Travis, myself, and our partners at Seattle Bride do not anticipate any significant changes to the quality and content of Urban Unveiled, and we have already begun discussing the 2012 event.  We see this partnership as an incredible opportunity to bring even more attention (and more couples!) to Urban Unveiled.

The attached Press Release came out recently, and we wanted to share it with our friends.  We are very excited about this next evolution for Urban Unveiled.

One of the highlights of Urban Unveiled every year is the much anticipated Luly Yang Bridal Fashion Show.  Our dear friend Luly has been a part of Urban Unveiled since it began.  This year we collaborated with Luly to create an entirely new bridal fashion show experience. The 2011 Urban Unveiled theme of "Diamond" was partially an homage to Luly's collection, as well as the creation of an overarching theme for the event and the fashion show.

Luly debuted her 2012 Bridal collection, Diamond, at Urban Unveiled with her largest dedicated bridal fashion show to date.  With a rectangular lit-up runway complete with VIP "Diamond Island" lounge seating in the center, it was a couture confection not to be missed.

The Creative team at 7 Salon styled the models’ hair, while Michael Bride provided their makeup services.  These wonderful partners styled to perfection, just like they have for many of our brides.  Here are just a few shots from the exciting show.

Thank you to Jerry & Lois Photography for all of the lovely images!
